We need many COACHES and volunteers for our Science Olympiad Club! Please help where you can by sharing your expertise, coaching or mentoring an event, helping at practices as a support person, or sharing/donating supplies, instrumentation, reference materials, design ideas, journals -- any kind of support is welcome! And please spread the word to other parents, science professionals and community members who might be interested in supporting this effort.
Some areas of expertise we are looking for include (but are not limited to): aerodynamics, device building, food science, engineering (structural, civil, electrical, mechanical), meteorology, oceanography, astrophysics, anatomy & medicine, epidemiology, biosciences and forensics.
Here are some steps to get you started:
STEP 1: Think about what you'd be interested in coaching or mentoring.
If you are interested in helping with general volunteer tasks (admin, organize information & paperwork, assist coaches, etc.) rather than coaching/mentoring a particular event, please skip to STEP 2.

NOTE: Information currently posted is for last year's events, but gives you a general idea of expectations. Information for this year will be posted as soon as available.
STEP 2: Fill out our online Coach/Volunteer Sign-Up Form.
STEP 3: Fill out required paperwork. It can take a while for District paperwork to be approved, so please take care of this ASAP so that practices aren't delayed. Completed paperwork can be dropped off at the Muirlands Middle School front office or mailed to:

STEP 4: Practices will start the week of October 7, 2019 pending volunteer status approval. The competition is Saturday, February 8 at San Diego Miramar College OR March 21 at University of San Diego.
